Customer Reviews

I just tried this the other day, and I loved it so much I did the whole first and second levels (about 20 sessions total) all at once! By the end, it seemed really easy and made me feel almost coordinated - yay! YET... later that night I went back and just tried the second level and almost fell on my face. So I have a feeling you can do this over and over and it won't get boring or "too easy."
HOWEVER... the third level, the so-called "dance-off" is more like Death Dance 2007. The music is way faster, and the arrows on the screen are so fast I'm not sure how a human is supposed to move that fast... I presume it's possible though, so I guess in the end that's a good thing, because I can keep practicing level 3 while I have lots of fun with levels 1 and 2!
I like the screen graphics - even the animated Roxee doing the moves with you is helpful. When I was looking for something like this, I also looked at the Twister DVD dance game, and looking at the back of the box, it looks like their graphics are extremely simplistic. The 2 mats that go with this game do NOT attach to anything that scores you - they just go on the floor by themselves. This is the same for the Twister game. I think it's ok though - you can worry about having fun and not obsess about doing it perfectly.
I'm 28 and in fairly good shape, and doing some of the dances in levels 1 and 2 indeed made me break a sweat. The only thing I didn't like was when Roxee would come on the screen afterwards and ask if you wanted to do the same one again or try another one - because I would be so excited about keeping going and I didn't want to wait for her to ask it! However, I think little kids would like this.
I can see my mom enjoying doing this too - it's a little like step aerobics on a flat surface, and the music is really fun! I've never played any "real" versions of DDR on Playstation or anything - if anyone reading this has, this game might seem a little boring in comparison...
So in summary, I think this game appeals to many different age groups, is very fun, gives you exercise, is a lot cheaper than buying a Playstation, of course doesn't allow you to get addicted to the various official DDR releases, and is better than Twister's DVD dance game! I highly recommend it!

My 9 year old loves it, though she was bummed when she realized the mat didn't really "know" if she did it right or not. But she loves to play it and really works up a sweat, which is the reason I bought it. It's a great workout for me too!
