I bought this for my 9 year old niece and she can't seem to get enough of it. She is totally hooked on this game. I read the other review and we did not experience any of the same problems that reviewer was having. The other reviewer, complained that you have to "earn" your Superstar status. Well, hello, that is the challenge of this game. If it came easy how fun would that be. As with everything in life, you generally have to work hard to get what you want ; to earn it! That gives this toy it's educational value!

My daughter received this from her brother for Christmas. She has played previous versions at friends' houses and still found this one entertaining.
Pros - The system is easy to set up and use. She was able to begin playing with little to no help. The graphics are improved from previous versions. There is more to do inside the game so she didn't make it through all the options in one sitting.
Cons - I don't think children much older than 9-10 will enjoy this game long term. Children used to gaming interactions (ie Sims) may find the friend and job interaction overly simplistic.
